Practicing Law is Exciting as Well as Rewarding!

  • The drama of the courtroom can be a reality for you as an Assistant Public Defender in the 19th Judicial Circuit (Offices in Fort Pierce, Stuart, Vero Beach and Okeechobee).
  • We provide training, CLE seminars, top-rated computer and video technology, offer competitive salaries, full benefits and pay all over-head while you are able to focus on the interesting field of Criminal Trial Law.  You won't be bored!!!
  • Best of all, this is in the beautiful setting of SE coastal Florida communities, all the while making a difference in the lives of real people who need help only a lawyer can provide.

Both volunteer and internship opportunities are also available at the Office of the Public Defender. Volunteers are needed to provide secretarial assistance, or assistance with the Client Services Program, which includes re-entry programs, diversion, and Lifebuilders 501(c)(3) to work with the Client Services Program staff. Volunteering and Interning can be rewarding and educational.
